Welcome to my public art journal. This is a place for me to share some thoughts about my current paintings that are either in progress or completed; post previous paintings that I may have something to share about or any other art-related topics that I find relevant to share with my viewers.

This painting is one of many that I began in the last few weeks. I was very curious about how to create paintings in oil that have a similar effects as the paintings I make in encaustic wax. With wax, I smear pigments around on a heated anodized aluminum plate. After some experimentation, I think I may have achieved it.
Materials and tools: Gelli plate, oil sticks, blending medium, hard plastic tool or spatula and silicone tools to smear paint around, paintbrushes and printmaking paper.
